Cannabidiol or CBD is one of the most famous exogenous cannabinoid found in the Cannabis family.  Cannabis has three main species that are Cannabis sativa, Cannabis Indica, and Cannabis ruderalis. These plants produce more than 60 types of different cannabinoids along with other highly nutritious chemical compounds.  Even though the Cannabis plant has been known for centuries, lately more and more scientific research is being carried out on it and it has gained the status of therapeutic medicine.  Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, CBD is entirely non-psychoactive and cannot cause the effects associated with marijuana.  Legal CBD products contain less than 0.2 % THC according to the European Union standards. Zéna CBD oil complies with all European Standards.

CBD Products

There are many different types of products containing CBD today. CBD oils are one of them. The three most common types of CBD oils found in the market are full-spectrum CBD oil, broad-spectrum CBD oil and CBD isolates.  These products are quite different from each other with respect to the concentration of CBD and other cannabinoids. Full-spectrum CBD oil contains all other types of cannabinoids and phytonutrients along with CBD.  It also contains traces of THC.  On the other hand, broad-spectrum CBD oil also contains all essential phytocannabinoids and phytonutrients except THC.  CBD isolate is the purest and contains more than 99% of CBD only. CBD isolate effects however may be less notable than full-spectrum. It can also be synthetically produced in the lab, which is why you should always check the CBD source.

The use of CBD in Europe is rising rapidly, specifically in the last few years. It is estimated that about 16% of European population is using CBD products in different forms. At Zéna, we believe in simplicity. We have products that are simple to use and effective, but we also want to educate our customers about CBD so here are the most famous types of CBD products available in the market worldwide.

Types of CBD products

Oils and Tinctures

CBD oils and tinctures are the most familiar and widely used types of CBD products. These come in small bottles and are consumed in the form of drops. As compared to other CBD products, oils and tinctures could contain a higher concentration of CBD, which is why it would be best to double-check the CBD content in the product before buying it.

CBD Concentrates

CBD concentrate contains a very high amount of CBD, which is typically ten times more than the average CBD product.  Even though the body can conveniently tolerate higher concentrations of CBD, it is advisable to begin with the smallest doses to avoid any inconvenience.

Tablets and Capsules

CBD Softgel capsules and tablets are a convenient way of taking a regular CBD dose. Each capsule and tablet contains about 5-25 mg definite doses of CBD oil. One benefit of CBD capsules and tablets is that you don’t have to calculate the dose every time you need it.

CBD Topicals

CBD Topicals come in the form of creams, lotions, salves, and gels. They can be applied directly to the skin to seek relief from pain and symptoms of inflammation. These products can also be helpful for inflammatory skin conditions such as acne and eczema. The best CBD topicals contain nano CBD particles or micellized CBD dose that can travel through the dermal layers and show their effect instantly. These products should always be tested on a small patch of your skin.

CBD Vapes

Vaping is the quickest delivery method as it takes the CBD dose into the lungs from where it is directly absorbed into the bloodstream. CBD content through vaping will not have to pass through the digestive system and liver before entering the bloodstream. However, CBD inhaled through vapes is effective for shorter time periods and its effects fade off within a few hours. Vaping is relatively safer than smoking, but it has other side effects associated with it. It is best to avoid it and use other safer types of CBD products.

Wrap Up

CBD has become immensely popular for its therapeutic properties and is available in a number of easy to use products.  If you are thinking about adding CBD in your daily self-care routine to help you gain balance in your life it would be best to consult your Healthcare practitioner before including CBD in your daily life.  Moreover, remember that CBD can help you improve your wellbeing but it is not considered a treatment method until more research is carried out.
